Do you ever notice how quickly your reactions can take over — even when part of you wants to respond differently?

Is it hard to stay in the “Captain of the ship” when emotions are running high?

Does your child say harsh things about themselves, like “I’m bad,” or “I can’t do anything right”?

Do you wish they could explain what’s going on inside instead of acting it out?

What if your hardest parenting moments weren’t problems to fix — but signals from parts that need attention and care?

What if your child could learn that no feeling makes them “bad” — and that every emotion has a purpose?

One of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves and our children is the ability to be on loving terms with ourselves — all of ourselves.

Most of us were taught to push away anger, anxiety, perfectionism, or self-doubt. We try to manage them, override them, or power through them.

But what if those parts aren’t problems to eliminate — but protectors trying to help?

In this class, Susan Stiffelman and Lisa Spiegel will introduce you to Internal Family Systems, a powerful approach that helps you build a compassionate relationship with the parts of you that get reactive, critical, anxious, or overwhelmed.

When parts feel heard instead of judged, something softens. And when things soften, relief follows.

This work begins with parents. Children learn parts language most naturally when they see it modeled.

During the class, you’ll be guided through experiential exercises to identify and dialogue with one of your own parts — so you can feel how this process works from the inside out.

From there, you’ll learn how to introduce this language to your child in simple, developmentally appropriate ways — through conversation, creativity, and play.

Internal Family Systems offers a way to understand yourself and your child with greater kindness, clarity, and confidence, so difficult moments become opportunities for connection rather than conflict.

✔️ Guided experiential exercises for parents — so you practice dialoguing with your own parts first, and can confidently model this for your child

✔️ Practical guidance for bringing parts language into real-life moments — homework struggles, sibling conflict, resistance, or shutdown

✔️ Live role-play and reflection — helping you identify a triggered part and experience what softening actually feels like

✔️ Play-based tools (drawing, toys, storytelling) that help children externalize their feelings and explore their parts safely

✔️ Age-appropriate practices that help your child soften worry, shame, or hurt from the inside out

✔️ Modeling emotional steadiness in the moment — so your child sees what returning to Self looks like
